About The designer
Isabelle Laursen (she/they/xe) is a San Francisco based costume designer, originally from Denver and then Chicago. She received her BFA in Costume Design at DePaul University's The Theatre School (TTS) in 2020. At TTS, she has designed eight productions, including The Model Play; The Rover; King Oedipus; The Wong Kids; Cockroach; The Witness; The House of Bernarda Alba; and The Zoo Story. She has previously assisted on Jane of the Jungle, Growing Up Blue, Junie B. Jones is Not A Crook, and Seven Homeless Mammoths.
While she loves costume design, she tends to think of herself as a Jack-of-All-Trades. Her primary love is with illustration and textile arts, however she dabbles in all sorts of creative pursuits, including writing, photography, cosplay, crafting, and whatever interest is next on her neverending list. In her designs, she loves using bright fun colors, interesting silhouettes, and ensures that even the tiniest detail has meaning. |
